Tomorrow is day 3. Title Talk! Join in to learn and share books you are excited about for your book clubs, and classroom libraries. Here is our Smore with more details about participating.

NerdCampNNE Social Media Event August 2021

We sure do miss being able to be together in beautiful Freeport, Maine to deepen and extend our learning side-by-side. However, the health and safety of our nerdy colleagues and communities is of the utmost importance to us. Therefore we have decided not to host Nerdcamp Northern New England in person this September. We also realize that many educators need a break from live video meetings and events. After much consideration, the committee has decided to host a 4-day social media NerdcampNNE event.

Let's help each other start the 2021-2022 school year off right!

From August 2-5 we will post a focus topic on the Nerdcamp NNE Facebook and Twitter pages. Colleagues can respond and share their thoughts, links, and photos by commenting on the post or in their own original post. We will be using the hashtag #Nerdcampnne2021.

All commenters will be entered to win a pre-selected picture book, lower middle grade or upper middle grade book stack (5 books). 3 winners will be drawn on Friday, August 6. Books will be mailed directly to the winners (US only).

Daily Topics

Monday 8/2-Read Aloud Round Up: Share the books you plan to read early in the school year.

Tuesday 8/3: Share new, or tried and true, professional development books, articles, websites, podcasts, etc. that feed your nerdy soul.

Wed. 8/4: Title Talk-Share books you are excited about (early chapter books, middle grade, YA, picture books)

Thursday 8/5: One Little Thing- Share one little thing you plan to try, change, elevate, or study this school year that you feel will impact your practice.

Topic of the day will be posted on FB and Twitter by 8:00am EST.

Update on NerdcampNNE 2020

Dear NerdcampNNE Attendees and Supporters,
It is with deep regret that we announce the official cancellation of NerdcampNNE 2020. The safety and health of our attendees, the committee and the community was the basis for this decision. While we would love to see all our Nerdcampers, we feel the responsible thing to do is cancel the event for this year. Because of the collaborative nature and organic organization of our event, we will not be offering a virtual Nerdcamp. 2020 has been full of disappointments for all of us in a variety of ways, but we are planning to come back strong in 2021 and are determined to continue the work of supporting New England literacy educators. In the meantime, we sincerely hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
Best Wishes,
The NerdcampNNE Committee
